US police has reproduced a victim 3D fingerprint to unlock an iPhone

Apple refuses to cooperate with the authorities when it comes to unlocking terminals iPhone, or iPad tablets, which set a security code and / or a fingerprint and a police station in the US has resorted to a method quite unusual to gain access to a victim’s terminal.

We are talking about a person who was killed, and to get access to data terminal or police in the US called for the creation of a mold 3D finger person, this mold with imprint used to unlock the device and using or trying to get access to data from the device.

fingerprint

Police called for the creation of molds 3D all 10 fingers of the victim, a laboratory in Michigan managed to do this, but unfortunately it is not known how many chances does the police to get access to the device, given the safety measures implemented or by Apple in the iOS.

Specifically, iOS requires a security code if the mark has not been used to unlock more than 48 hours, or if the terminal was restarted, but after three scans wrong the footprint is needed the realization of exactly the same procedure to gain access to data.

A 3D printed finger alone often can’t unlock a phone these days. Most fingerprint readers used on phones are capacitive, which means they rely on the closing of tiny electrical circuits to work. The ridges of your fingers cause some of these circuits to come in contact with each other, generating an image of the fingerprint. Skin is conductive enough to close these circuits, but the normal 3D printing plastic isn’t, so Arora coated the 3D printed fingers in a thin layer of metallic particles so that the fingerprint scanner can read them.

Although police did not know how successful it could be accessing data, death does not attempt, and in the future, if these procedures are done quickly enough, they could indeed allow accessing data from devices.

You need to rename groups of conversations in Messages? Now you can even on Apple products

In the stock Messages app on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch when you chat with two or more people in a conversation the name of the group displays just the separated names of yours interlocutors. This don’t happens with another’s messaging services like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, and that’s why is annoying when you use Apple products.

But now a solution to that problem appears. Last august we tested a past jailbreak tweak called MessageRenamer, updated with both iOS 7 and 64-bit compatibility.
The tweak made possible for you to easily change the name of conversations in both the Messages app and biteSMS extension. You can talk with one or more person same time and the tweak will work. You can learn how that is possible below.
When you are in a conversation try to tap and hold on its header for rename it. Now you will see a pop-up menu with three options. Tap first option which is RENAME and a text prompt will be open here you can enter and save a new conversation name. If you wish to change the conversation name back tap RESET, and use CANCEL when you need to close the menu.
Chatting with groups of peoples is more useful and fun same time. For example you will remember where you know a contact and how can he or she to help you in the future. Renaming  groups in coworkers, students or family is now just so easy and I’m surprised that Apple didn’t include that from the start on chat app.
As the tweak don’t suffer from bugs, even after developer Atlas Wegman has rewritten, MessageRenamer7 remain good for use and clean.
We can buy MessageRenamer7 almost free, just 99 cents on Cydia. For the real free one you can try the oldest version for iOS 6. Recently the tweak has some problems with 64 bits configuration, but an update was released and that is expected to hit BigBoss soon.  Also is good to know that there is no option to configure the settings after installation.

Animated weather information on your Weather icon app

Even the simplest of things can add functionality to your device. This being said I can say that today I am going to present you a tweak, yes quite simple and speaking from my interactions with this tweak quite functional. Consider my scenario you find yourself in the Home Screen and want quickly to know some weather information. What does this tweak do? Well it animates the icon with information based on your last weather location seen in stock Weather app. You will see your icon with the weather based on your last visit accompanied by text stating the weather and the temperature.  If you want to set another zone to monitor in your Weather app icon you must enter Weather app and change to the desired area then you simply exit app. The icon will automatically show information on your icon based on the weather from that area.

If the scenario and functionality of this tweak caught your interest maybe this is the time to give you the name of this simple tweak, LiveWeatherIcon is the name. The installation is simple and there are no settings to setup after you have installed this tweak. Even though this tweak is simple you can get this tweak for free, this will cost you $1. This is hosted by the BigBoss repo.
